A woman has lost HK$20,000 after falling victim to a suspected fake “police-prosecutor-court” scam, the Judiciary Police (PJ) said. The victim received a call on Monday from someone claiming to be from the “Wuhan Public Security Bureau,” alleging her phone number was linked to fraud cases in mainland China. She was told to cooperate with an online investigation and provide banking details and passwords. She later found her account locked and funds transferred. PJ also reported another similar case on April 22 involving losses of more than HK$470,000.
