The prices of ferry trips between Hong Kong and Macau via the ferry operators Turbojet and Cotai Water Jet are set to increase from this Saturday (Apr. 25), the operators announced.

The fare hikes, which exceed 10%, have been justified by the recent surge in fuel prices due to the Middle East conflict, as well as by general inflation, which was said to affect other operating costs.

Turbojet has noted that the fare for a seat in economy class on weekday sailings will rise from HKD175 to HKD194 (+10.9%), while sailings on weekends and public holidays will increase to HKD212 from the previous HKD190 (+11.6%).

Meanwhile, night sailing tickets will increase from HKD220 to HKD242 (+10%).

As for Cotai Water Jet, a Cotai Class (economy) ticket on weekdays will increase from HKD175 to HKD192 (+9.7%). Sailings on weekends and public holidays will adjust from HKD190 to HKD209 (+10%), and night sailings will increase by 10% from HKD220 to HKD242.

The price adjustments do not affect, for the time being, the tickets for Cotai First (Cotai Water Jet) or Super Class and Premier Grand Class (Turbojet).

At the same time, Turbojet also announced similar updates to sailings between Macau and Shenzhen (Shekou), with fares increasing on the same date to HKD259.

According to the operators, the price adjustment has been posted after consultation with and approval from local authorities.
