The International School of Macao (TIS) has received awards in the STEAM and Early Childhood Center categories at the Greater Bay Area (GBA) School Awards.

Held on March 12 during the 21st Century Learning Hong Kong Conference, the GBA School Awards highlight outstanding schools across the region.

In a press release, the school stated, “TIS’s recognition as a finalist and winner in these categories underscores our commitment to fostering a rich educational environment, as well as our robust curriculum with an emphasis on critical thinking, technological literacy, and a student-centered approach to learning, all essential components that prepare our students to excel in a rapidly evolving world.”

TIS head of School Lorne Schmidt said, “We are absolutely delighted to be recognized again. This honor belongs to our teachers and staff, whose unwavering commitment to excellence and passion for innovation have created a culture of creativity across the school. These awards reaffirm not only the quality of our educational programs but also the effectiveness of our student-centered, interdisciplinary approach.”

The wins build on TIS’s strong performance last year, when all four entries reached the finals, securing the Student Agency Award and finalist nods in the Experiential Learning Program, Professional Learning and Staff Development, and STEAM categories. NS
