EV motorcycle stations launch scan-to-charge trial

Electric motorcycle charging stations in public parking lots launched a “scan-to-charge” pilot on Monday, requiring users to access chargers via a mobile app. China Power Macau (CEM) staff assisted riders on-site, with instructions provided through signage. Some users found the system more complex, particularly older riders less familiar with mobile apps. Others reported smooth registration but raised concerns about leaving phones unattended while charging. CEM said it will review trial data to improve system management and introduce real-time station status updates.
