Man faces charges for HKD7 million hotel theft

A 44-year-old mainland man has been referred to prosecutors for aggravated theft after allegedly stealing HKD7 million from a friend at a Cotai hotel. Police said the victim left the cash on a table while briefly out; it was missing upon return. Investigators traced the funds to the suspect’s casino account, recovered the money, and arrested him at the airport on March 31. The case remains under investigation.
