Zhanjiang Customs reported that more than 13,000 live pigs were supplied to Macau and Hong Kong from January to February this year, marking a 50.9% year-on-year increase. According to a statement, Zhanjiang has been upgrading its pig farming, quarantine, and market supply systems, making it a key part of the Greater Bay Area’s “vegetable basket” project. The project is regarded as a modernized and digitized food supply system designed to ensure that quality agricultural products reach consumers across the region.
